The Vishvamangalam Shardagram, Himatnagar has been managing many educational institutions since its formation with its mission to work for the development and progress in academic sphere from primary to higher education and spread knowledge in Himatnagar and its surrounding and interior areas.
As Himatnagar is situated in Sabarkantha district, which is a backward district, most of the population in the area and its surrounding come under educationally, socially or economically backward. There was no college for girls in the district. And just because of this lake of woman empowerment, the educationalist Shri D L Patel decided to establish a higher educational institute in Himatnagar especially for girls' higher education. Shri D L Patel always encourage empowerment of women through education for girls.
With the aim of imparting higher education with quality, Shri D L Patel started Mahila Arts college, Motipura, Himatnagar in the year 1992. The college offers course of B.A. with three major subjects - Gujarati, Sanskrit & Hindi and Psychology as a subsidiary subject. The institution works with specific vision and mission to provide higher education to girls of rural and surrounding areas, and try to nurture their overall development by educational and co-curricular activities. The educational environment of the institution attracts the students across entire district and its surroundings. As a result of this, the numbers of students are increasing day by day.
The institution has N.S.S. unit performs social service and contributing much to nearby areas. The entire staff vigorously endeavors to inculcate basic virtues like sincerity, discipline, devotion, truthfulness, determination, and patriotism among the learners. They must learn importance of social equality and tolerance.
